Stone & Blueberry Pottery
Set by Stone Collection
Set against the rugged surface of an old stone wall and bringing together a collection of country objects chosen for their color, texture and character. A blue-and-white stoneware crock holds branches of warm russet berries and leaves, accompanied by a woven basket and a small painted chest decorated with apples. Resting along the heavy wooden shelf, the warm browns, reds and oranges of the arrangement stand in quiet contrast to the cool, weathered stone behind them.
This painting reflects my fondness for combining different textures and familiar country objects—rough stone, aged wood, pottery and basketry—into a still life that feels at home in an old New England house.
