The Seth Thomas-Bradstreet House offers a more personal glimpse into the story behind Thomaston's celebrated clockmaking history. Seth Thomas purchased the Main Street home in 1838, and it became one of five houses along the street associated with the Thomas family—and the only one of those five that survives today. In 1850, Thomas sold the home to his daughter, Amanda Thomas Bradstreet, and it remained in the family for generations. Today, the beautifully preserved house serves as a museum, with historic furnishings and belongings that help tell the story of the Thomas family and the community that grew around them
