Jugs & Sunflower bouquet
This painting captures three old ceramic jugs, including a beehive jug.  The glazing in the beehive jug used as a model for this still life, had imperfections in the glazing which appear as drips or runs on the jugs surface.  The still life captures the beauty of an old brick wall, a collection of of old jugs placed on a soap stone hearth, and the casual placement of a fresh cut bouquet laid alongside, as if the gardner has just returned from the flower beds and hasn't yet placed the flowers into a vase.  A reminder of a summer days in the countryside, enjoying simple pleasures.   This is one of the Country Floral Collection Prints that combine the beauty of floral arrangements with the country charm.
